Tour Structure 2024

Professional FootGolf Tour will stage tournaments and events around the world. We will have differing Tour event levels, but all will provide a great experience.

  • Our main category will be our Premium Events. These events will be organized solely by Professional FootGolf Tour and only feature amazing courses and registration packages that cover great hotels, lunches, great prizes, gala dinners and more. These premium events will be the crème de la crème of FootGolf experiences.
  • Our Partner Events will be a collaboration between Professional FootGolf Tour and trusted partners who have demonstrated that they have the ability to organize and run fabulous tournaments. Our partners will be totally responsible for these events but this will be a true partnership with both organizations working together for the betterment of the tournament. These events will still be very high end, on good quality courses, well organized and great value for money.
  • Our Niche or Specialty Events will be one off events that are not a part of the rankings system and will focus on different aspects of our sport. Think gender or age specific events, pairs or team event, ‘bring a new player’ event, all in our efforts of growing the sport and being diverse in our offerings. These will all take time to integrate but our goal is to offer some great events like this to build the game as we grow.

How do rankings work?

Our ranking system will be determined using a new points system devised by Nikos Fousias. It will be simpler and fairer to use than the current system, and we hope it makes it easier to calculate your earned points.

You can earn ranking points in each tournament. There are 3 Premium events in 2024, (Sharjah, Casablanca & Cairo) and two partner events, which have 50% ranking points (Tenerife & Czech Republic) leading up to our Grand Final.

The Grand Final will have a limited number of players. The players who are highest in the rankings in each category will qualify for the Grand Final. Winners of each Premium event automatically qualify for the final and receive a 50% discount on their entry fee.

For those who do not qualify automatically, we will organize another event at the same venue so that you can experience the same course and participate and watch the Grand Final.

So in short, our Tour will feature three Premium events. Sharjah, Morocco, Egypt, our 2 partner events and our Grand Final. The overall Tour Champion will be the player with the 4 best scores from any 6 events, with a maximum of one partner event allowed.

There will also be a separate cash prize for the four overall Professional FootGolf Tour Champions.

Scoring System

The scoring system below is how we will calculate our rankings for the 2024 season and was designed by Nikos Fousias. We’ve taken the baseline of 72 players and 500 points as our standard and players are rewarded accordingly. This system awards higher points for events which have more players and fewer points for events with less players. The more players at an event, the more points are on offer. We feel this is fair and rewards players for their achievements.

Based on a 72-player field the point structure will be as follows;

The formula for this system is based on x .92 for every spot down to the 72nd player.

1st place 500
2nd place 460
3rd place 423.2
4th place 389.3
5th place 358.2
6th place 329.6
7th place 303.2
8th place 278.9
9th place 256.6
10th place 236.1

If the event has more than 72 players, then the total points value will be based on the final total number of the players on the field for that event.

For example, if a event has 98 players total, then the formula for distributing the points will be 500 pts / 72 players = 6.94 x 98 players = 680 points for first place and moving down each spot x.92.

If a main event has less than 72 players, let’s say 61 players, then the formula for distributing the points will be 500 pts / 72 players = 6.94 x 61 players = 423.3 points for the first place and moving down each spot x.92.

In case of a tie of 2 or more players, the total points for those players will be divided equally to all.

For Example – on a 72 player field – if there is a tie between 6th/7th and 8th place – that would be a total of 911.7 points / 3 = 303.9 points per player.
